DBP2012

This demo was entered in Microsoft’s Dream Build Play 2012 competition. It’s not so much a game as it is a technical demo. All of the maps are procedurally generated. When you “finish” the game, it generates a new world.

The concept was an attempt to create an “infinite” 8-bit RPG. The combat system was inspired by guitar/band games, requiring the player to add commands to a queue like notes on a musical staff.

I acted as team leader, designer, and lead programmer. I was not responsible for the combat engine or the art/music assets.
